Setting up a ranking
Go to Activities & programme → Manage rankings. No discipline yet? Create one first, see Setting up disciplines and score types.
Creating a ranking
- Click New ranking.
- Enter the Title and optionally a Description.
- Choose the Discipline. If the right one isn’t listed, use the Create a new discipline link.
- Optionally link a Category (see Managing shooting categories).
- Enter the Start date, and optionally an End date.
- Choose the Season rule (see below).
- Want a team ranking too? Enter Counting team members per round (see Setting up teams). Leave the field empty if you don’t use teams.
- Check Show live results if members may follow the standings during a round.
- Check Visible to members once the ranking is ready to be shown.
- Click Create.
The season rule
The season rule determines how the rounds add up to the season ranking:
- Sum: all rounds count: the total of all rounds.
- Best N rounds: only each shooter’s N best rounds count. The other rounds are dropped and shown as such in the standings. Enter the Number of counting rounds (N).
- Average: the average of the rounds shot.
With Minimum number of rounds you can optionally require a shooter to have shot a minimum number of rounds. Shooters with fewer rounds are listed at the bottom as not ranked.
Live results
- Off: members only see a round after you have closed it.
- On: members see scores and standings immediately, marked as provisional. The page refreshes by itself.
As an administrator you always see everything. The same setting applies to the TV screens.
When is a ranking finished?
A ranking is finished once all rounds are closed and the end date has passed (or there is no end date). The detail page shows whether the ranking is finished and, if not, why not. When a ranking is finished, the podium appears on the TV screens.
Archiving
A ranking that is no longer relevant can be archived instead of deleted. The history is then preserved, but the ranking disappears from the active list. Use Show archived to find them again.
