Setting an auditor access code
Is an inspection scheduled, or does the Weapons Service show up unannounced? Go to Settings, card Auditor access. You’ll see a badge there: “Code active” or “No code set”.
This is different from a user with the Auditor (read-only) role — see Managing users for that distinction. The code below is for a one-off, temporary inspection, without creating an account for it.
Setting it up
- Under New code, enter a code of at least 6 characters (use Show/Hide to check what you’re typing).
- Enter the Validity (hours). “0 = no expiry date.”
- Click Save.
The help text on screen is explicit: “Set a new code here. The code itself is not stored; only a hash.” So you can’t retrieve the code afterwards — write it down before you hand it over.
If a code is already active, you’ll also see “Expires on: [date and time]”, or “No expiry date set.” if you chose 0 hours.
What the inspector sees
Share the code verbally or in writing. The inspector goes to yourcompany.ammosuite.com/auditor — where it says: “Auditor access. Log in with the access code. This mode is read-only.” After entering the code and clicking Log in as auditor, they get read-only access to your entire environment: all your registers, in read-only mode. No separate account is needed.
An auditor cannot add, change or delete anything. Buttons such as “Add customer” are not visible to an auditor.
Every login as auditor is logged in the audit trail: the timestamp and the fact that it was an auditor session.
After the inspection
Once the configured validity has expired, the code stops working. Want to deactivate it earlier? Set a new code — this invalidates the old one.
Want to revoke the code right away? Tick Remove current code and click Save: auditors can then no longer log in.
Does the inspector want to take a document with them? Download the PDF reports of your registers.
